Payroll & CIS
We prepare weekly, fortnightly and monthly payroll runs for all sizes of workforce in our Payroll and CIS (Construction Industry Scheme) department.
Running your own payroll can sometimes be a burden you don’t want. The filing regulations and calculations can be complex, with errors often incurring fines, so many businesses are looking to outsource this business-critical function.
Even if you have only one or two employees, we can put a cost-effective package together to suit you. No matter how many employees you have, we can happily run payroll as a part of our other services or as a separate service.
Monthly PAYE is reconciled and notified, plus all standard payments and deductions such as statutory sick pay, maternity pay and paternity pay. We help with submitting your RTI reports, as well as helping your business register under Auto Enrolment. At the year end, we supply your payroll summary, plus p60’s, Benefit in Kind p11d’s, and Class1A calculations for all your staff.
We report monthly CIS for contractors paying subcontractors, and also for employers whom themselves are subcontractors with CIS deductions.
All payroll reports are prepared to enable you to input the details into your accounts records.

Our Payroll & CIS Team
I joined the business in 2013, and have seen and been part of the growth in the bookkeeping and payroll department, throughout this time there have been many legal changes from HMRC.
With the wide client base we have, I enjoy working closely with all clients in processing their VAT return, CIS returns, Payroll and Bookkeeping.
I enjoy working with clients to get them up and running on their own bookkeeping, so they feel that they can still be in control but supported when they need it.
Before Barwell Accountants
I studied business at college and then went straight into accountancy when I finished school, my experience is in both practise and industry.
Away from the office
I am a mum now so have fun with my little boy who keeps me busy. On top of this I have a black lab called Chester and a collies called Pat. When I get time, I enjoy exercising and home décor.
I joined the company in the summer of 2020 as an apprentice. Since then, I have achieved my full AAT qualification whilst working within the payroll, bookkeeping and CIS department.
Throughout the years I have worked here, I have developed working relationships with clients as well as my colleagues and love working as part of the team.
I enjoy expanding my knowledge more each day and learning new aspects to the job to meet the needs of clients which I work with.
Before Barwell Accountants
I worked in hospitality whilst studying business at college before I began my employment at Barwell Accountants.
Away from the office
Most of my time outside of work is spent with my horse Bounty. He is a palomino Welsh section D. We enjoy rides at the beach and the forest.
I joined Barwell Accountants in 2023 but have been connected to the company for over 12 years. I'm experienced in Bookkeeping, Payroll and VAT and work closely with clients to process their records. I've learnt a lot since joining the company, I can now handle and process CIS returns.
Before Barwell Accountants
I worked as an office manager for my brother’s haulage business, which involved day to day running of the business, bookkeeping, and keeping up to date with the industry.
Away from the office
Outside of work, I've taken up a new hobby which is running. I've taken part in a few 10k races and I'm currently training for the Manchester Marathon 2026. I love spending time with my family and going out for food occasionally.
