About
Who we are
We are a firm of accountants with offices in Wisbech, offering a range of services to individuals and businesses.
Our aim is to be close to our customers and to feel part of each and every one of them when providing our services. With the use of the internet and cloud based software we are able to work with clients based in East Anglia and anywhere in the UK.
Our team
I began the company in 2009 with the vision of creating an accountancy business in the area I had grown up in and felt I had a real connection and knowledge about.
With the passion of getting to know my clients and their business, assets and personal tax requirements I believed I could create a business offering a strong comprehensive service.
Over the years this has grown and the customer area has grown to cover a large area of the East of England. With the development of the methods and ways we work since the business started, we are now able to use the online digital software and facilities to work for our clients wherever they are and wherever we are.
I have always aimed to embrace new methods and move with the times, which has allowed the business to grow year on year.
I have enjoyed the process of building my own business and feel very strongly this personal experience has added significantly to the connection and advice I can bring to our customers.
Before Barwell Accountants
I trained and worked for 12 years for two accountancy practises in Kings Lynn and completed all my exams to become a Chartered Certified Accountant progressing on to complete my practising certificate and running a large portfolio of customers. I am very proud to say some of the customers from my early days are still with me 29 years later.
Away from the office
I enjoy socialising, travelling and spending time with family and our dogs. My biggest hobby is golf and I play as much as possible in the fair weather.
I qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 2006 and joined Barwell Accountants in 2010, working in the accounts and tax department. Much of my time is spent dealing with the accounts and taxation of individuals, partnerships and small to medium sized owner managed companies. I enjoy the diverse range of businesses to which we offer a tailored service. The area of taxation is of particular interest to me, specifically property tax and tax planning for owner managed businesses.
I also support clients with timely management information using a variety of software packages such as Xero, Sage and Quickbooks along with additional software platforms such as Hammock. Moreover, following our current firm wide focus of supporting our clients to go digital, I work closely with individual clients and members of our book-keeping team to onboard them on to their preferred software package.
Away from the office
In my spare time I enjoy skiing and fitness. Most weekends I can be found on the side of a rugby or hockey pitch watching my children play. Thankfully my youngest has taken up an indoor sport – gymnastics!
I joined the team in 2011, having originally trained with Nickie in the 1990’s ! I work on the accounts and tax side of the business and enjoy the diversity it offers. As well as having trained with Nickie, I was also a manager with Katy at a practice in King’s Lynn.
I have been qualified 25 years and have seen many changes. I think the firm is progressive and adapts well to the changing world we live in. We offered a large amount of support to our clients during the challenging Covid 19 pandemic, and I believe we are well placed to deal with Making Tax Digital (MTD).
Away from the office
Outside of work I enjoy running and I'm currently training for my first marathon. I spend a lot of time transporting my 2 boys to various events, and supporting my husband who chairs a youth football club. On the rare occasion we get any spare time we like eating out and doing escape rooms.
I joined Barwell Accountants in 2015 as a qualified accountant and have over 17 years’ experience working in practice.
I work with a wide range of clients in different sectors offering accounts, tax and management accounting services.
I have a keen interest in cloud accounting and works with new and established businesses to help streamline their accounting systems and allowing access to real-time accounts information to ensure compliance with Making Tax Digital.
I enjoy meeting clients face to face in order to build a great working relationship with them.
Away from the office
Outside of the office hours, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends and can often be found on the side of a football pitch supporting my son. I also has a toddler who does her best to keep me on my toes.
Experience
I started in a small accountancy practice in Essex in 1983 after working in banking in the City of London. The practice then merged with a larger accountancy firm in 1995. Following 36 years in general practice working with a wide range of clients’ businesses spread throughout the UK, I relocated to Cambridgeshire and joined Barwell’s in 2019. My experience is ideally suited to assisting clients in their business, corporate and personal tax affairs.
Hobbies
After playing hockey for many years, now enjoys supporting the local hockey, football, rugby and cricket teams. Until recently I also enjoyed training motorcyclists to an advanced level, and much to my wife’s delight, enjoy DIY around the home.

With the wide client base we have, I enjoy working closely with all clients in processing their VAT return, CIS returns, Payroll and Bookkeeping.
I enjoy working with clients to get them up and running on their own bookkeeping, so they feel that they can still be in control but supported when they need it.

Outside of work, I've taken up a new hobby which is running. I've taken part in a few 10k races and I'm currently training for the Manchester Marathon 2026. I love spending time with my family and going out for food occasionally.
I joined Barwell Accountants in the summer of 2024 and am currently studying towards my ACCA qualification to become a chartered accountant. After completing my A-levels at sixth form, I was eager to begin gaining real-world experience in the accounting field, which led me to take on this role straight after school. Starting my career here has given me the opportunity to apply what I’m learning in a practical environment, while also continuing to build my knowledge and confidence through hands-on work.
Working alongside an experienced team has been incredibly valuable, and I’m excited to keep developing both personally and professionally as I progress through my ACCA exams. I’m enthusiastic about the journey ahead and look forward to contributing to the team and growing within the company.
